The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will be closing the online application window for the CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child, 2023 today, October 18. Eligible female students who have completed Class 10 at a CBSE-affiliated school and are presently enrolled in Class 11 at a CBSE school can apply for the scheme using the portal provided on cbse.gov.in.
Today is also the final date for candidates to renew the scholarships awarded to them last year. Applicants from the previous year may also submit a renewal application for the CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship in addition to the new application. Only girl students who received over 50 per cent in class 11th can apply for a scholarship renewal.
The girl student must be the only child of her parents in order to be eligible for the scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded to single girl students who passed the CBSE Class 10 board exam with at least a 60 per cent score and whose tuition fee for the academic year does not exceed Rs 1,500. The cumulative increase in tuition fees over the following two years should not exceed 10 per cent. For a maximum of two years, the scholarship would be provided at a cost of Rs 500 per month.
CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship 2023: How to register
Eligible single girl students can apply for the CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship by following the steps given below –
Step 1: Visit the CBSE board’s official website at cbse.gov.in.
Step 2: On the homepage, click on the ‘Single Girl Child Scholarship X-2023 REG’ link.
Step 3: Now, select the appropriate scholarship application link.
Step 4: A new tab will open on the screen. Pick the kind of application, SGC-X new or renewal.
Step 5: Once the form is filled out, upload the documents specified in the form.
Step 6: Submit the Single Girl Child Scholarship application form as instructed and take a printout of the same for future records.
CBSE has also requested that affiliated schools review the application forms of applicants who have enrolled for the Single Girl Child Scholarship. The process for verifying credentials began on September 25 and will end on October 25 on the board’s official website.
