Gujarat BJP chief CR Paatil said that due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi`s support, inspiration and hard work of the country`s scientists and engineers, the indigenous 700-megawatt electric (MWe) Kakrapar Nuclear Power Plant in Gujarat has started its operations in full capacity.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated the scientists and engineers for this. We extend our greetings to PM Narendra Modi. Due to his support and inspiration and with the hard work of the scientists and engineers of our country, the indigenous 700 MWe Kakrapar Nuclear Power Plant Unit-3 is beginning operations at full capacity. We thank PM Modi and wish the nation continues to progress like this,” the Gujarat BJP chief told ANI on Thursday.
This comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the starting of full capacity operations at India`s first indigenously developed 700-megawatt electric (MWe) nuclear power reactor at the Kakrapar Atomic Power Project (KAPP) in Gujarat on Thursday and called it “another milestone” in the country`s progress.
“India achieves another milestone. The first largest indigenous 700 MWe Kakrapar Nuclear Power Plant Unit-3 in Gujarat starts operations at full capacity. Congratulations to our scientists and engineers,” PM Modi said on `X`.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also congratulated the scientists and engineers involved in the project.
“India`s power acquires a new dimension today as our largest indigenous 700 MWe Kakrapar Nuclear Power Plant Unit-3 in Gujarat starts operations at full capacity. It is a firm step towards attaining PM @narendramodi Ji`s vision of self-sufficiency in power production. My heartfelt congratulations to the scientists and engineers involved in the project,” Amit Shah wrote on X.
