Jharkhand

As per the new schedule, from April 22 till further notice, students from kindergarten to class 8 will be attending schools from 7 am to 11:30 am. Students from Class 9th to 12th will attend classes till noon. The notice clarified that this adjustment is applied to government, non-government-aided, unaided and private schools in the state.

Odisha:

The temperature in Odisha ranged from 40 to 45.2 degrees Celsius. The Odisha government on Sunday declared summer vacations in all schools from April 25, due to the heatwave conditions. The announcement will apply to all schools including those run by the government, government-aided and private, in Odisha. Schools will be run from 6:30 am to 10:30 am from April 22 to April 24.

Bihar

In Bihar, at least 11 places have recorded more than 42 degrees temperature. An order was issued by the District Magistrate of Patna stating that all schools in the state capital have been instructed to change the timings of school. It will be from 6:30 am to 11:30 am. It has prohibited academic activities from 11:30 am to 4 pm for all classes up to class 10th of private and government schools including pre-schools and Anganwadi centres of the district. This will remain effective till April 30.

West Bengal

The West Bengal government too took a step to protect school-going children and staff from heatstroke. The government announced summer vacation starting April 22. This has been implemented in all government and government-aided schools of West Bengal. These orders will not be implemented in Kalimpong and Darjeeling.

Chhattisgarh

The Chhattisgarh government also announced summer vacation for school students from April 22 to June 15. This has been implemented in all government-aided, unaided and private schools. Earlier, summer vacation was declared from May 1 to June 15. Now a new order has been issued by making partial changes to it.

In Maharashtra, summer vacation has already begun in all primary, middle and higher secondary schools affiliated with the Government of Maharashtra, from April 18 onwards.
