Tata Salt, the market leader in India’s branded iodized salt segment, has launched a nationwide Republic Day campaign called “Desh Ke Liye #HarSawaalUthega.” The campaign is aimed at empowering children by providing them with a platform to raise questions that could spark relevant conversations and bring about societal change.

As part of the campaign, Tata Salt is conducting city-wide events in more than 300 schools across India, educating over 30,000 students and giving them a chance to raise their questions. The best questions will be shortlisted by a jury comprising of policy makers, educationists, school management, police officers, celebrities, and bureaucrats. Selected students will be rewarded based on their questions.

Recently, Tata Salt successfully conducted the first on-ground event in Pune, at Suryadatta National School, with over 200 students in attendance. The students raised 300 questions, with 50 of the best questions shortlisted for the event. The top 3 students were awarded prestigious books by the jury.

Commenting on the launch of the campaign, Deepika Bhan, President of Packaged Foods- India at Tata Consumer Products, stated, “Children can reframe our thinking and challenge the status quo. Desh ke liye #HarSawalUthega is a platform that endeavors to surface real questions and fuel a generation of kids to contribute to a better tomorrow.”

Advisor to the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Mrs. Shweta Shalini, praised the campaign for providing a stage for students to gain confidence and question the norm. DSP Santosh Gayke also congratulated Tata Salt for organizing the event and praised interventions like these for instilling confidence and promoting curiosity in children.

The campaign is a nationwide effort aimed at empowering children to ask questions and spark meaningful conversations that can lead to positive change in society. The initiative is part of Tata Salt’s commitment to the theme “Desh Ki Sehat, Desh Ka Namak” (the health of the nation, the salt of the nation).

During the event, the students were encouraged to ask questions on topics ranging from women’s empowerment to environmental issues. The best questions were shortlisted and answered by dignitaries such as Mrs. Shweta Shalini, Advisor to the Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Santosh Gayke, DSP of Pune Police, and Mr. Sanjay Chordiya, President of the Suryadatta Educational Group. Tata Salt will conduct similar events in schools across India and reward students based on their questions, which will be selected by a jury comprising of experts from various fields.

The company hopes that this initiative will inspire the next generation to imagine a better future and contribute to positive change.
