JAMMU: Security arrangements have been fortified in Jammu division ahead of the Ram Temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya on Jan 22, followed by Republic Day. “Forces have intensified vehicle-checking drives and frisking of pedestrians in several parts of the city as well as in other places in the region,” an official said.
Jammu SSP Vinod Kumar carried out an on-ground security review, including at checkpoints and other places, on Wednesday.
Security forces and police have been put on alert across Jammu, including in places along the international border to ensure foolproof protection. Special nakas (checkpoints) have been established in important locations across the city as well as entry and exit roads manned by additional police and paramilitary personnel.
