Vaibhav Kumar cracked UPSC on his second attempt.

Vaibhav Kumar worked as a Software Engineer at CitiBank for two years.

One of the toughest exams in India is the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Recently, a man named Vaibhav Kumar from Ranchi (Jharkhand) accomplished a feat by cracking the exam without any tuition or coaching, which left many shocked. He made his family proud after he secured 151st rank in the UPSC exam. Vaibhav Kumar, hailing from Nalanda, is a resident of Kanke, Ranchi, Jharkhand. Recently, he secured 151st rank in the UPSC exam. His father, Viresh Kumar works in the Central Coalfield Limited (CCL). As per Viresh Kumar, Vaibhav was always excellent in his studies from his childhood. He completed his Class 10 and 12th from Asansol, West Bengal and finished his higher education from Delhi.

Viresh Kumar added that after Vaibhav completed his studies, he joined as a Software Engineer at CitiBank and worked there for two years. He then appeared for UPSC exams twice. According to Vaibhav Kumar, the first time he appeared for the exam he was not prepared. But the second time, he appeared with better preparation and the result says it all. In his second attempt, he knew what to study and how to make a proper strategy to study.

Vaibhav Kumar, in an interview, shared that while he was employed at CitiBank, he used to think of doing such work that would bring honour to his parents, earn a name for himself and benefit the society. Vaibhav’s mother, Sunita Kumar, shared that her 26-year-old son has worked quite hard and she tried to provide him with the right kind of environment. She further added that as parents, they always provided Vaibhav with everything he needed. Ever since his childhood, he has made his parents proud. She also stated that she never let her son take responsibility for the household, and instead always asked him to focus on his studies.

Sunita Kumar has been observing fast for the last 20 years on Chaitra Durgashtami. She felt that finally her perseverance was rewarded by the Goddess Durga, after her son became successful in the UPSC exams.
