No MCC hurdle to routine work: HC | India News
Himachal Pradesh high court on Monday directed the chief secretary to issue instructions regarding the model code of conduct, expressing displeasure with govt and public sector officials misinterpreting the poll code as obstacles to their routine work.
HC asked chief secretary Prabodh Saxena to issue within a week an order barring officials from making excuses in the name of poll code.The court was hearing a petition by Satinder Kumar, whose promotion to the post of superintendent grade-II was held up by Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar HP Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur, under the pretext of enforcement of poll code.
“We fail to understand the stand of the respondent university. We asked the registrar to explain as to how the MCC would in any manner affect the appointments and promotions made by the university,” observed the division bench of Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan & Justice Sushil Kukreja.
