Engineering courses in India continue to be the top choice for students, primarily due to the promise of lucrative job opportunities and a brighter future. The country has quite a few prestigious institutions such as the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and National Institutes of Technology (NITs) renowned for their exceptional placement records.
Admission to these institutes considered the pinnacle of technical education, is granted through the highly competitive Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). One of these premier engineering colleges, NIT Jamshedpur unveiled its impressive placement statistics for 2023.
NIT Jamshedpur marked a significant milestone during this year’s placement season, with six of its students securing annual packages of Rs 83 lakhs each. These remarkable job offers were extended by Atlassian, a multinational IT company headquartered in Australia. Three students from the Computer Science branch and three from Electrical Engineering clinched these high-paying positions and have already accepted the offers.
Professor Gautam Sutradhar, the Director of NIT Jamshedpur, and Professor AK Choudhary, the placement cell in-charge, expressed their pride in the institution’s achievement, especially in securing the highest package. In total, 663 B.Tech students received 919 job offers during this placement season. Impressively, 64.63% of postgraduate students have also successfully landed placements. The students responsible for setting this record are Adarsh Kashyap, Tanya Singh, and Arpit Kumar from the Computer Science branch, along with Shubham Kumar, Apoorva Singh, and Rahul Pandey from the Electrical Engineering branch. Notably, NIT Jamshedpur achieved a similar feat last year but with only one student, making this year’s accomplishment even more significant as it represents a threefold increase in such high-paying job placements.
A remarkable 91.49% of MCA students have secured placements thus far, reflecting the institute’s consistent commitment to excellence. Moreover, 65.26% of students from other B.Tech branches have successfully secured internships, while 56.13% of students pursuing various engineering courses have also obtained internships during the 2023-24 placement session.
