Following approval by the Union Health Ministry to lower the NEET PG cut-off for all categories to “zero”, the counselling was extended. Many doctors, medical associations, and academics, however, were outraged by this decision.
Previously, the NEET PG cut-off was established at 50 per cent for general/unreserved category applicants, 45 per cent for those with disabilities (PwD), and 40 per cent for students from other reserved groups.
