On Thursday, Mumbai recorded six measles infection cases but no new fatality, as per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) data.

Presently, the tally of measles cases recorded so far this year to 257.

“Out of six measles cases reported on July 13, three are from June second week and other three confirm cases are prior to that. All cases were already reported as suspected cases,” said Daksha Shah, executive health officer, BMC.

According to the civic body data, a total of there are eight active outbreaks reported in the city at present and 84 active cases.

Two patients are admitted to the general ward, the BMC official said.

The death toll since January 1 remained unchanged at four.

Presently, active cases can be found in G/N, K/E, P/N, L, and M/E BMC wards.

“Out of the total 2,32,159 children in the age group of 9 months to 5 years in 84 health posts, 2,24,951 (96.90 per cent) (Progressive) children were given additional dose of MR vaccine (Special dose),” the press statement said.

“Out of the total 5,114 children in the age group of 6 months to 9 months in 23 Health Post, where the measles cases in the age group of less than 9 months is more than 10&#37 of total lab-confirmed cases, 5,114 (100 per cent) (Progressive) were given zero doses of MR vaccine,” the statement further added.
