Mumbai Police arrests man for possession of illegal weapon

Mumbai Police Crime Branch Unit 9 arrested a suspect who was discovered in possession of illegal weapons. The individual arrested was identified as Amit Kinake (27) who originally hails from Nagpur, the police said.
“We acted on a tip-off and apprehended one alleged accused after trapping him near the APCO Construction gate, located near Rangasharda, Bandra (West),” stated Senior Inspector Daya Nayak.
During the investigation, cops uncovered that the accused was in possession of a stainless steel country-made pistol, an iron country-made pistol, and 11 live cartridges. “He couldn`t provide a license for holding these weapons, rendering them illegal,” he further added.
The police are currently in the process of determining the motive behind the individual carrying these weapons. Consequently, a case has been registered against Kinake under the relevant sections of the Arms Act and the pertinent sections of the Mumbai Police Act.
