A fire broke out in a flat on the 42nd floor of a high-rise building in Dadar on Thursday night, official said. As per the official data, no casualties were reported.

The blaze erupted in the closed flat around 8.30 pm on the 42nd floor of the 44-storey residential tower on B. A. Road in Dadar East.

As per the BMC update, fire extinguished at 3. 50 am in the morning.

“The cause of the level-2 fire (medium category), which was confined to an electric panel on the 42nd floor of the structure, was not immediately known. The firefighting system of the building was not functioning,” said the official.

Mumbai Fire Brigade and police personnel were at the spot.

“An operation to douse the flames was on with the help of 6 fire engines, a fire tender and a 90-metre high crane, among other equipment,” the official said.
