Mumbai Crime: Attacked brutally, elderly couple fights back caretaker
Sudhir grabs Gawli’s hand and Supriya, who has sustained a shallow cut in the throat, falls near the window. Gawli turns around and stabs Sudhir in the neck and as he falls on the floor, the caretaker stabs him in the chest, too. But Sudhir does not let go of Gawli
As Sudhir keeps Gawli occupied, Supriya picks up bowls and throws them out of the window, leaving traces of blood on them. Children notice the bowls and try to figure out what was happening
Children run upstairs and knock on the door of the elderly couple. Scared, Gawli opens the door and flees. Neighbours alert the cops, following which Senior Inspector Rajendra Mandre, under the guidance of DCP Maheshwar Reddi (Zone 10), forms teams to hunt down Gawli. They nab him late at night from Dadar railway station where he was boarding Siddheshwar Express. Police say he intended to rob them, but couldn’t. Supriya has survived the attack, but her husband could not be saved, they add
