Mumbai: 17-year-old teenager riding bike killed in accident in Borivali
A minor boy died in a road accident in Borivali after the bike that he was riding collided with the divider near a building, at Sanjay Gandhi National Park. According to the official, he died during the treatment.
According to police sources, the deceased has been identified as Netan Carls Fernandez, a resident of the IC colony in Borivali West.
On August 22, he went to attend his friend`s birthday party. Later, after coming back from the birthday party, Fernandez took his father`s bike (without obtaining permission from his parents) and went to Borivali (East) along with a few other friends to eat maska pav and tea.
While returning back home, Fernandez`s 18-year-old female friend was sitting as a pillion rider on the bike.
At around 4 a.m., suddenly Fernandez lost control and the bike collided with the divider of the road and got injured.
“Both (Fernandez and his female friend) were admitted to the hospital for treatment. The girl was treated for leg injuries and released but Fernandez died during treatment,” the police official said.
The Kasturba Marg police registered the case and booked the deceased under the relevant sections of IPC including section 304 said a police source.
