Mother, two minor kids charred to death in fire in J&K’s Ramban | India News
JAMMU: A 25-year-old woman and her two minor daughters were charred to death while her husband and mother were critically injured late Wednesday night when fire engulfed three huts they were staying in at village Bingara in Jammu & Kashmir’s Ramban district.
Police said the deceased have been identified as Najma Begum, her daughters Iqra Banoo and Assma Banoo, aged two and six. Najma’s husband Ibrahim (30) and her mother Mirja Begum (55) suffered serious burn injuries when three huts were gutted in an accidental fire in Hummar Gali in the upper reaches of Pogal Paristan of Ramban district.
Police have registered a case and started an investigation.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ramban Mussarat Islam wrote on X, formerly Twitter, “#HamerGaliFire incident Update: Dist Admin response swift! Relief operations in full swing – legal heir certificates, SDRF & Red Cross aid processed on site. Relief supplies en route.”
