Maharashtra politics: BJP, Shinde Sena mock at Opposition meet
Shiv Sena (Shinde) and the BJP have come down heavily on their rival faction for laying red carpet to the opponents of Hindutva during the INDIA Front conclave that takes of later on Thursday in Mumbai.
MP Gajanan Kirtikar led the attack at a media conference on Thursday, the first day of the Opposition conclave. He said that former Jammu and Kashmir CMs Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti will be welcomed by Thackeray.
“Balasaheb Thackeray founded the Shiv Sena for Hindutva and progressed it. But now Thackeray`s slavery of the Congress will be on full display,” he said.
“Thackeray will welcome Lalu Prasad Yadav who had stopped Rath Yatra. He will also lay a red carpet for Rahul Gandhi to be the PM.”
Minister Dipak Kesarkar said Mumbai was Balasaheb`s land. “Will the guests pay respect to Balasaheb at his samadhi? Will they clarify on their stand on Savarkar?” he asked.
State BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule mocked the conclave as the gathering of the ghamandia (egoist) PM hopefuls. “They are day dreaming. The surveys show who is going to win the next elections,” he said.
“Thackeray says it`s a quantam leap of the Opposition but it is nothing but a team of beasts that attacks PM Narendra Modi,” he added.
