IRS Swati Nokhwal, Who Cracked UPSC On First Attempt With AIR 766, Shares Tips To Succeed

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts one of the toughest exams, the Civil Service Exams (CSE). After clearing the exam, the selected candidates are given the position of IAS, IRS and other top bureaucratic posts as per their qualifications. Lakhs of candidates try their luck in this exam but most of them suffer failure while a few taste success. Several candidates are unable to pass the exam even after 3-4 attempts but some do on their maiden attempt. One of them is IRS Swati Nokhwal who secured an All India 766th rank. She achieved this milestone when she was 22 years old in 2017.
Swati Nokhwal is a resident of Ward 19 of Srigangaghar, Rajasthan. She belongs to a middle-class family. Her father’s name is Indraj Nokhwal and he is employed at Travelling Ticket Examiner ( TTE) in Indian Railways. Her mother Shakantual Verma is a teacher in a government school. The working parents at home, made Swati Nokhwal realise the importance of education.
She completed her school education at a private school in Sriganaganagar. She scores 90 per cent in Class 12. She also has a brother named Shubham. He secured 95 per cent marks in the intermediate exams this year.

As soon as her graduation was complete, she decided to pursue the UPSC exam. She was determined to make her career in civil service and hence she started preparing for prelims.
During her interaction with the media, she shared her study schedule and said that she used to study for 6-7 years every day for the prelims. After clearing prelims, she increased her studying time to 8-10 hours. According to reports, it is also believed that she was one of the youngest candidates who qualified UPSC exam in 2017. She is currently serving in the position of Deputy Commissioner CGST, Hisar, Haryana.
