IDUKKI: Upset over the death of her 28-day-old baby, a woman along with her seven-year-old son died by suicide by jumping into a 40ft-deep well on the premises of her house in Kerala’s Upputhara on Thursday. The deceased have been identified as Kaithapathal resident Lija (38) and her son Ben Tom. Lija was the manager of Alakode Service Cooperative Bank, Thodupuzha.
Lija’s first son had died due to illness two years ago and she was mentally disturbed over his death. Her third child, the 28-day-old infant, died on Tuesday after milk got stuck in his throat while she was breastfeeding the child, her family members said. They said that Lija couldn’t withstand the agony caused by the deaths of her two children.
