Indian Army is inviting online applications from eligible unmarried male engineering graduates for the 140th Technical Graduate Course ( TGC-140) at the Indian Military Academy ( IMA) Dehradun. The course is set to commence in January 2025. Candidates interested in the permanent commission in the Indian Army can apply for the released vacancy through the official website of the Indian Army – https://www.joinindianarmy.nic.in/. It has released a total of 30 seats across various engineering streams. Civil, Mechanical and Computer Science Engineers are offered seven seats each under this course. It is followed by Electronic Engineer–four seats and Electrical Engineer–three seats. The selected candidates will be commissioned at the post of Lieutenant. The pay scale of the post ranges from Rs 56,100 to 1,77,500. The last date of application is May 9.

TGC-140 Vacancy: How To Apply

Step 1: Visit the official website–https://www.joinindianarmy.nic.in/

Step 2: On the homepage, register yourself with your basic contact information such as your Aadhaar Card, contact number and other details

Step 3: Access the application form with your registered ID and password

Step 4: Complete the application form by submitting your educational qualifications and other required details

Step 5: Upload the necessary documents

Step 6: Pay the application fee if required

Step 7: Submit and download the application form.

The candidate should be below 20 years while the maximum age of the applicant should not exceed 27 years. As per the official notification, all the candidates applying for these posts should have an engineering degree in the related subject from any recognised university or institute. The candidate must be unmarried and a citizen of India. The training at the IMA will be for 12 months. On successful completion, the training cadets will be granted permanent commissions in the Indian Army which will be subjected to promotion. There are no fees for the course as the government handles the expenses.

Candidates will be selected through SSB interviews. For this, only shortlisted eligible applicants will be interviewed based on the cutoff percentage at one of the selection centres. The recruitment drive is only for the male candidates. The final-year Engineering students can also apply for the position.
