The E&ICT Academy at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has partnered with AlmaBetter with the aim of offering certification programmes in data science, artificial intelligence (AI), and web development. The new certification courses will allow individuals to achieve advanced certifications in full stack web development, full stack data science, and artificial intelligence (AI).

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), IIT, and NITs collaborated to create the E&ICT Academies at IIT Guwahati. E&ICT Academy, IIT Guwahati, and AlmaBetter strive to teach students and increase their chances of securing employment in data science, software engineering, and other specialist sectors through this collaboration.

According to an official press release, the curriculum has been developed as well as validated by E&ICT Academy, IIT Guwahati, and individuals registering with AlmaBetter will receive an extra advanced certification from E&ICT Academy, IIT Guwahati, allowing them to receive IIT-certified global-level education.

Prof. Gaurav Trivedi, Principal Investigator from IIT Guwahati’s E&ICT Academy, stated that the E&ICT Academy was established to improve the employability of students and working professionals from technological background in India. “Our partnership with AlmaBetter makes it easier for us to reach more students nationwide. This partnership marks a huge step ahead as we offer the best education and employability skills to tech learners,” he added.

Students joining these programmes would be able to attend guest lectures delivered by IIT Guwahati faculty members and choose to participate in a campus immersion experience there. Studnets may add the IIT endorsement to their CV after finishing this certification, which can improve their employment chances.

The press release states that this partnership has the potential to change the way that technology is taught across the nation. The existing situation restricts just a small number of people to a small number of premium colleges, which makes it difficult for them to obtain high-quality tech education.

Shivam Dutta, Co-founder and CEO of AlmaBetter, stated that this is a critical milestone in their journey as they continue their objective to deliver a worldwide quality of technological education to all of the country’s bright students who would otherwise be unable to access or afford the best of technological education.

“Democratizing tech education for all has been at the core of AlmaBetter’s vision, and this collaboration with IIT Guwahati brings us close to realizing it,” he highlighted.
