The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) is reportedly planning to announce the results of the Class 10 and 12 board exams approximately a month ahead of its usual schedule, reported Times Of India. This means that students can anticipate receiving their results by the end of April, which will be available on the official website of the board at gseb.org.
The results for Class 12 (science) are expected to be announced in the second week of April. Meanwhile, the results for both Class 10 and Class 12 (general stream) are anticipated to be released by the end of April.
Apart from giving students ample time to contemplate their options and plan their future endeavours, this accelerated release will also be advantageous for those who pass supplementary exams, as it will allow them to secure admissions for the upcoming academic session promptly.
According to a Times Of India report, GSHSEB is expected to announce results within 45 days of the commencement of the board exams now that 60 per cent of the Class 10 answer sheets have already been evaluated. Additionally, the board has started entering data and evaluating papers for the Class 12 exams. This will make it easier to compile the results early. Preparations for the early release of results started well in advance. The number of centralised assessment centres has increased from 374 last year to 459 this year.
A significant change to the GSEB classes 10 and 12 board exams 2024 announced by the Gujarat board is an increase of 10 per cent in objective questions from 20 per cent to 30 per cent. On the other hand, the percentage of descriptive questions has decreased from 30 per cent to 20 per cent.
In 2023, the HSC Science results were announced on May 2, with a pass percentage of 65.58 per cent. Similarly, the SSC results, declared on May 25, saw 64.62 per cent of students passing. Additionally, the HSC (general) exam results, announced on May 31, showed a pass percentage of 73.27 per cent.
