The Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GSHSEB or GSEB) has announced the HSC or the Class 12 results for the Arts and Commerce streams today i.e. on May 31. Students can now check their scores on the boards official website i.e. gseb.org.

The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has recently released the HSC (Class 12) exam results for the year 2023. These exams that were conducted from March 14 to 25 and the result was announced today i.e. on May 31 during a press conference.

The results data reveals that both boys and girls have experienced a decline in pass percentage compared to the previous year. However, girls have managed to outshine boys by a significant margin in terms of performance. According to the recently declared results, the pass percentage for boys stood at 67.03%, while girls achieved an impressive pass percentage of 80.39%. 

In addition to the remarkable individual performances, the overall results for the GSEB HSC exams have brought both positive and challenging aspects. A total of 311 schools in the general stream recorded a remarkable 100% pass result, indicating that every student from these schools cleared the exam. However, this number has decreased compared to the previous year when 1,064 schools achieved a perfect pass record. On the other hand, 44 schools reported a disappointing pass rate of less than 10%.

This year witnessed a surge in HSC exam registrations, reaching a five-year high with approximately 5.91 lakh students enrolling for the exams. These exams that were conducted from March 14 to 25. Among the registered candidates, there were even 56 prison inmates who eagerly participated in the exams.

The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) declared the overall pass percentage for the HSC general stream to be 73.27%. Last year, the pass percentage for the GSEB 12th Arts and Commerce streams was 86.91%, with 2,91,287 students passing out of 3,35,145 students appearing for the exams.

This time, English medium students have outperformed their counterparts in Gujarati and Hindi medium. The pass percentage for English medium students stands at 79.16%, while Gujarati medium students achieved a pass percentage of 72.83%, and Hindi medium students achieved a pass percentage of 67.45%.
