NOIDA: Shiv Nadar University student Sneha Chaurasia had filed two complaints to the authorities five months ago about Anuj Singh, her batchmate in third-year sociology who killed her before turning the gun on himself on Thursday.
A university official told TOI Friday that the complaints were about Anuj’s behaviour and “relationship issues”. “Sneha made 2-3 complaints against Anuj on personal grounds,” said Raja Natarajan, executive director of financial operations.

We provided counselling to them: Univ official
Shiv Nadar University student Sneha Chaurasia, shot by her collegemate on Thursday, made two or three complaints against Anuj Singh on personal grounds. “Such fights are common among friends, and we provided counselling to them,” said Raja Natarajan, the university’s executive director of financial operation.
A student who knew Sneha and Anuj said the two of them would usually be seen together on the campus but that had changed over the past few months.

In a nearly 23-minute video he uploaded on Google Drive just 10 minutes before the shooting and mailed to a university group, Anuj mentioned the complaints against him as well as their breakup, which he couldn’t handle.
Anuj’s other claim – made towards the fag end of the video, that was in the third stage of brain cancer and didn’t have much longer to live – took everyone by surprise, including his family. His father Lokesh Singh, a farmer in Amroha, said Anuj did not suffer from any critical illness. “My son had no critical illness,” Singh told TOI over a call.
