The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, will close the registration process for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024 today, October 20 with late fees. Candidates who are yet to submit their applications may do so by today by paying a late fee of Rs 500 on the official website of IISc GATE 2024 at gate2024.iisc.ac.in.

IISc Bangalore is scheduled to conduct the GATE 2024 on February 3, 4, 10, and 11, next year. Applicants will be allowed to modify the details on their application forms from November 7 to November 11. The admit cards for the examination will be available for download from January 3, 2024. Candidates can expect the release of answer keys on February 21, 2024.

GATE 2024: How to Apply

Step 1: Visit the official website at gate2024.iisc.ac.in.

Step 2: On the homepage, click on registration link

Step 3: Provide your personal details to create login credentials.

Step 4: Log in using the generated credentials on the homepage.

Step 5: Fill out the GATE 2024 online application form.

Step 6: Pay the application fees.

Step 7: Download and print the confirmation page for future reference.

GATE 2024: Exam Pattern

The exam will be held in the Computer Based Test (CBT) format for a duration of three hours. There will be 30 test papers featuring two sections — General Aptitude (GA), and Candidate’s Selected Subject(s). GATE 2024 comprises of a total of 65 questions with 10 questions from the general aptitude section and 55 from the subject selected by the candidates.

As per the official information brochure, questions will carry either one mark or two marks. For every wrong answer to an MCQ, there will be a negative marking. For a one-mark MCQ, one-third of the marks per question will be deducted for a wrong answer. For a two-mark MCQ, two-third of the marks will be deducted for a wrong answer. There is no negative marking for wrong answers to MSQ and NAT questions. There is no partial marking for any question.
