Tomatoes: 1 kg
Green chilies: 2
Sugar: 1/4 kg
Salt: 1/4 spoon
Cardamom powder: a pinch
Ghee: 2 spoons
Bark: 1
Cashew
Recipe:
Add enough water and tomatoes to a vessel, and let it boil. Now, drain the water and let the tomatoes cool down.
Now, peel the tomatoes. Put it in a jar with two green chillies and salt and grind it. Now, use a filter paper to strain it. Add grated tomato paste to a pan.
In this step, let it cook. Tip: wait till you get a nice smell.
After boiling it well, add sugar and cardamom to the paste.
Put ghee in a saucepan and add cashew nuts to it.
You can serve it hot as a dip or keep it in a glass jar.
Note:
If the tomatoes are ripe and red, the jam will have a good colour. If the colour of the tomato is too light, you can also add a little red colour to it.
Do not add water while grinding tomatoes. Adding water will take more time for the jam to thicken.
In case the paste is watery and takes too long to thicken, you can mix cornstarch with water.
