The death toll in the Dombivli factory blast rose on Friday morning, said officials. According to a PTI report, two more persons died increasing the death toll to nine. The news agency report also stated the police had registered a case of culpable homicide against the owners of the chemical factory in connection with Dombivli factory blast wherein a fire broke out caused by a suspected boiler blast. 

According to the news agency report, the fire after blast was reported at Amber Chemical Company in MIDC Phase 2 of Dombivli East. The reports stated that many vehicles and houses in the vicinity were damaged due to the explosion. 

An eyewitness told the PTI that the blast was so loud that it could be heard a kilometre away.
