Marks from practical exams, project work, and internal assessments for the academic session 2023-24 can now be submitted by March 31 this year
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) extended the deadline for conducting class 10 and 12 practical exams. Furthermore, schools have been given until Sunday, March 31 to upload the results of practical exams, project work, and internal assessments for the 2023-24 academic year. An official notice regarding the same has been released on the main site of CBSE at cbse.gov.in. The board also stated that the decision to extend the timeline was made after taking into account several requests from schools.
“It has come to notice that some of the schools have not yet completed the activities [practical exams/ projects/ internal assessment/ internal grade 2024] within the stipulated time frame despite repeated reminders for the same and are now requesting the Board to provide the facility for uploading of marks for practical exams/ projects/ internal assessment/ internal grade 2024,” reads the official notice.
The board further claimed that despite repeated reminders, some schools failed to complete the assigned exams. Moreover, the board stated that it made this decision due to the failure to complete tasks within the time frame specified. Some schools have asked the board to allow them to upload their marks for practical exams/projects/internal assessments/internal grades in 2024.
In response to requests from schools that have not yet completed the aforementioned activities, CBSE has provided them with the opportunity to do so. It has been decided that these schools will be given one last chance to conduct practical examinations, projects, internal assessments, and internal grade 2024, with marks uploaded to the portal by March 31.
This year, the board also issued a list of subjects with corresponding marks to assist schools in conducting the Class 10 and Class 12 practical exams smoothly. CBSE has also announced that the maximum number of marks awarded to a subject will be 100, with marks distributed among theory, project, practical, and internal assessment components.
The CBSE 2024 practical exams were administered in January 2024. The board issued guidelines for students, schools, and regional offices to ensure that practicals were completed on time before exams. The board explicitly stated that no requests to change the uploaded grades would be granted.
CBSE had also issued a warning to the institutions, stating that if the directives were not followed, the practical tests would be cancelled.
This year’s theory board exams for classes 10 and 12 began on February 15 and are still ongoing. According to the schedule, the classes 10 and 12 exams will end on April 2, 2024.
