This time, they will be playing for dignity. RCB, on the other hand, will be under a lot of pressure since they have to win this match. In the 22 matches played between these two teams so far, the Sunrisers have won 12 and Bangalore nine.

In the last five matches, both SRH and RCB have won two and lost three. The highest total at this stadium was scored by the Sunrisers in 2019. Guess who their opponent was: RCB.

Bangalore must win this match because of two reasons. Winning one of the next two matches will take them to 14 points, probably not enough to qualify. They would like to secure 16 points by winning this match and their next at home against Gujarat Titans (GT).

Secondly, since their final match is against GT – the table toppers, it promises to be a really tough one to win. So, if RCB end up losing against Hyderabad, they will get stuck at 12 and get eliminated.

Can they win both these matches? Of course, they can…on paper. However, as we all know, they have been jinxed since the beginning of the Indian Premier League (IPL). They have always lost at crucial moments and never managed to win the trophy.

Nobody knows it better than the Royal Challengers themselves. They want to learn from their past and make things better this time. The fact is, if they lose against SRH, the idea of the said jinx will be hovering over their head in the next match against GT. And, that is not a good sign.
