JAIN International Residential School (JIRS) students create an artistic sculpture from recycled materials to raise awareness about the water crisis in Bengaluru.

In honour of World Water Day 2024, and to bring attention to the water crisis in Bengaluru, students at JAIN International Residential School (JIRS) are making waves with a powerful art installation. Celebrated annually on March 22, this year’s World Water Day theme, “Water for Peace,” resonates deeply with their message, highlighting the unifying power of water conservation.

CREATIVE ACTION FOR CONSERVATION

JIRS’s art club channeled their artistic talents and environmental consciousness into a captivating water conservation sculpture, crafted entirely from recycled materials. The centerpiece is a striking water droplet sculpted with a net, delicately cradling a single, precious drop. This evocative imagery is a powerful call to action, urging us to slow down the flow and secure a sustainable water future.

A MESSAGE FOR EVERYONE

The JIRS students’ creation isn’t just art; it’s a powerful message for everyone. The sculpture serves as a stark reminder of the critical need for water conservation practices. It compels us to use every drop responsibly, not just on World Water Day, but every day.

The JIRS students’ initiative takes on particular significance in light of Bengaluru’s water woes. The city faces a growing water crisis, highlighting the urgency of water conservation efforts.
