Asia Cup 2023 schedule out: India vs Pakistan match on 2 September
The schedule of Asia Cup 2023 was released on Wednesday with a high-voltage India vs Pakistan faceoff set for 2 September at at Kandy in Sri Lanka. In the inaugural match, Pakistan will take on Nepal in Pakistan’s Multan. The final of the Asia Cup 2023 will be played in Colombo, Sri Lanka on 17 September. India’s second match will be against Nepal on 4 September at the same grounds as Kandy in Sri Lanka and the Super 4 will begin from 6 September.
As expected Pakistan will host four matches of the Asia Cup 2023 and the rest 9 matches including the 5 Super Fours and Asia Cup 2023 final will be hosted by Sri Lanka. In the recent meeting of the Asia Cricket Council (ACC) Pakistan shared its intention to demand more than four matches for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023.
“Pakistan will take the stance at the ACC meeting that with a rainy weather forecast for venues in Sri Lanka which is to host nine games of the Asia Cup, Pakistan should be allowed to host more than four games at home,” said a PCB source.
