PATNA: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar will abstain from the Niti Aayog’s eighth governing council meeting to be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on Saturday, a senior Bihar minister told TOI here on Friday.
“Our chief minister Nitish Kumar will not attend the Niti Aayog’s meeting. Moreover, he has no programme to visit Delhi on Saturday,” the cabinet minister, who did not want to be identified, said.
Nitish will be the fourth chief minister who will abstain from the Aayog’s meeting, being held a day before the scheduled inauguration of the new Parliament building.
West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann have already announced to skip the meeting.
