Noida (Uttar Pradesh) [India], February 2: A Road safety awareness competition was organized at the Institute of Management Studies (IMS) Noida. During the program, students participated enthusiastically in speech, poster making and quiz competitions. Students were also given information about traffic rules. The program aimed to educate students about the importance of road safety and to create awareness among them regarding the various road safety rules and regulations.

Inaugurating the program, IMS Senior Director Dr. Kulneet Suri said that the main reason for road accidents is people’s ignorance of road traffic rules and road safety measures.  Road accidents occur mostly due to wrong-direction driving, lack of road safety rules and measures, speeding, drunken driving or biking, etc. Furthermore, also gave detailed instructions about traffic signals, and signs and told about various online services regarding applying for a driver’s license, RC, and other documents.

Dean of the institute, Dr. Ajay Kumar Gupta said that two-wheeler drivers should not travel without a helmet. Also, we should follow all the rules and regulations for safe travel.

Barsha Chhabaria, coordinator of the program said that students participated with great enthusiasm and gave better ideas to tackle the accident menace. The students were awarded prizes Karthik won the first prize in the quiz competition, Aniket in the speech competition, and Aryan won the first prize in poster making . Neeraj and Diamond won second and third prizes respectively in the quiz, Fahad and Saptarishi in speech and Kajal and Lakshya won second and third prizes respectively in poster making. Students were encouraged to actively participate in spreading awareness about road safety among their peers and family members.
