New Delhi (India), January 15: Anjum Lucknowi, born as Mohammad Iqbal Khan on March 7, 1973, in Tehsil Fatehpur, Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, embarked on a literary journey that has left an indelible mark. The son of Mohammad Haleem Khan, a farmer, and Sugra Khatoon, Anjum is the eldest among his siblings. His childhood passion for poetry led him to Alia Furqania Madrasa, where he honed his skills in Urdu and Arabic.

In 1987, he moved to Mumbai with his elder father, and his encounter with the eminent Bollywood writer, Syed Usman Aish Kanwal (pen name Aish Kanwal), marked the beginning of a 19-year learning period in poetry. Anjum established the organization Bazm-e-Urdu Adab Kavi Sanstha after his mentor Aish Kanwal’s passing in 2005. Between 2014 and 2017, Anjum authored two significant books.

Personal Life:

In 1994, Anjum Lucknowi tied the knot in Mumbai, and the couple is blessed with four children – two girls and two boys. In 2020, he ventured into entrepreneurship by founding Parbat Herbal, a company that quickly gained success and prominence.

Mushaira:

Anjum Lucknowi made his Mushaira debut in 1987 at Quresh Nagar, Kurla, under the guidance of Aish Kanwal. He continued to participate in Mushairas across various states, captivating audiences with his poetic prowess.

Books:

The Azmat-e-Maa Poetry Book (2014): A collection of poetry in Urdu and Hindi focused on children, offering insightful instructions for their development.

The Shikwa Jawab-e-Shikwa (Second) (2017): Published in Urdu, this book is divided into two parts – the first where a person questions God, and the second where God responds to the queries.

Awards:

Anjum Lucknowi received the prestigious Dr. Allama Iqbal Award in 2017 from Mustaqeem Inter College, Uttar Pradesh, Gyanpur.
