The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the schedule for the Combined Geo-Scientist Preliminary Examination in 2024. Aspiring candidates should take note of the examination date, which is set for February 18, 2024. The Combined Geo-Scientist Preliminary Examination will be conducted in two shifts. The morning session will run from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, followed by the afternoon session from 2 pm to 4 pm.

UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist Prelims 2024: Exam Structure and Stages

The Combined Geo-Scientist Examination is structured into three stages:

1. Stage I: Combined Geo-Scientist (Preliminary) Examination

– Format: Objective type with two papers

– Note: Marks secured in the Preliminary Examination will contribute to the final merit.

2. Stage II: Combined Geo-Scientist (Main) Examination

– Format: Descriptive Type with three papers

– Note: Marks secured in the Main Examination will be considered for the final merit.

3. Stage III: Personality Test/Interview

Eligible candidates who have qualified for the prelims and mains round successfully will be called for the finals and last personality assessment test.

Morning Session: 9:30 am to 11:30 am

–– Paper-I (Code No.1) General Studies [Common for all Streams]

Afternoon Session: 2 pm to 4 pm

–– Paper-II [Code No.2] Stream specific subject Paper

–– Geologist & Scientist ‘B’ (Hydrogeology): Geology / Hydrogeology

–– Geophysicist & Scientist ‘B’ (Geophysics): Geophysics

–– Chemist & Scientist ‘B’ (Chemical): Chemistry

UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist Prelims 2024: Exam Centres
