AFCAT 02/2024 Recruitment: The online application process will begin on May 30 for 304 vacancies in the Flying Branch and Ground Duty branches which includes both Technical and Non-Technical roles

The Indian Air Force has released the notification for the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 02/2024. The online application process will begin on May 30 for 304 vacancies in the Flying Branch and Ground Duty branches which includes both Technical and Non-Technical roles. Interested and eligible candidates can apply at afcat.cdac.in. The last date to apply is June 28. The exam is usually conducted in February and June. While applying for the IAF AFCAT 02/2024 exam, candidates have to pay an examination fee of Rs 550.

AFCAT 02/2024 Recruitment: Eligibility criteria

Education Qualification

Flying Branch: To join the Flying Branch of the Air Force, one must have passed 12th class with at least 50 per cent marks. They must have studied Physics and Maths subjects in 12th. After this, candidates must have cleared graduation with 60 per cent marks in any discipline or BTech with at least 60 per cent marks.

Ground Duty: Must have passed 12th with Physics and Maths subjects with at least 50 per cent marks. Must be a graduate with at least 60 per cent marks in engineering or technology.

Age Limit: For the Flying Branch, candidates must be between 20 to 24 years old, and for Ground Duty, candidates must be between 20 to 26 years old.

AFCAT 02/2024 Recruitment: Selection process

The selection process includes a written test, an Air Force Selection Board or AFSB interview test, and a medical examination. The AFCAT written exam consists of 300 marks. A total of 100 questions are asked in a two-hour examination. These questions are asked in different subjects like general awareness, verbal ability in English, numerical ability, reasoning, and the military aptitude test. All the questions are in objective form and are in English. The examination also has negative markings with one mark being deducted for each wrong answer. Candidates who successfully clear the AFCAT 2 exam will be eligible for courses beginning in July 2025. They will also be granted a Short Service Commission (SSC).
