The UP Board released their intermediate results a few days ago. Several meritorious students will now be deciding on the available career options. From medicine, engineering to teaching, the candidates choose subjects which align with their passion and have future prospects. However, there are many career options which are unknown to many, but have good opportunities in India. One of them is Physiotherapy. If students want to make a career after 12th, then a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) can prove to be a good option for them. Dr Ashok Kumar Kushwaha has done a Bachelor of Physiotherapy course from Uttar Pradesh Medicine of University Science Saifai. He explains that this is a doctor’s degree which carries different responsibilities from a medical doctor. The graduates can also write Doctor in front of their name after passing this course.
The demand for physiotherapy in the medical field is continuously increasing. Keeping this in view, this course has now been started in many universities. After doing this course, you can make a career in fields like sports physiotherapy, gynaecological physiotherapy, ortho physiotherapist and pulmonary physiotherapy.
There are many universities and colleges in the state to do this course and some of them are prominent. This course is offered in almost all medical colleges. Some universities also offer separate courses in this field. Interested candidates can do a BPT course from the University of Medicine Science Saifai, Motilal Nehru Medical College Prayagraj, Banaras Hindu University, KGMU Lucknow, among others. If done from a government college, then the fee for this four-year course is Rs 35,000 per semester. To study at a semi-government college, the fee per semester is Rs 75,000.
Dr Ashok Kushwaha says that this course is extremely beneficial for the students. The government is also making a lot of efforts to expand this sector. There is also a course for a Diploma in Physiotherapy. For admission to the BPT, one has to appear for the Common Paramedical Entrance Test (CPET). In which colleges are allotted to the students according to the ranking. Under this examination, admission is given in Bachelor’s and Post Graduation. CPET applications are starting on April 30 and will conclude on June 10.
