The Central and Western Railway will not have mega blocks for day time this Sunday. However, the suburban networks will carry out night blocks in the intervening night of Saturday/Sunday.

On Western railway (WR), a jumbo block of 04.00 hours will be under taken on UP & DOWN slow lines from 00.30 hrs to 04.30 hrs between Santacruz and Mahim stations in the intervening night of Saturday/Sunday, i.e. on March 2 and 3, 2024, said the WR press statement.

During the block period, some of the UP Slow line trains will be operated on UP Fast lines between Andheri and Churchgate, hence these slow trains will run fast between Andheri-Bandra-Dadar and Mumbai Central stations. There will no block on day time on the western railway surburban section on Sunday, March 3. 

Detailed information on the block is available with concerned Station Masters and passengers are requested to take note of the arrangements, the WR said in its statement.

Meanwhile, on Central Railway (CR) surburban section too there will no no block on day time on Sunday, March 3. 

However, integrated special mid-night traffic and power blocks on intervening night of Saturday/Sunday, i.e March 2 and 3, involving UP & Down North East Lines to be operated on  Kalyan – Kasara section, the CR has informed in its press statement.

The sections which will have night traffic blocks are- Titwala to Asangaon (excluding both stations) on the Down North East section and Vasind to Titwala (excluding both stations) on the Up North East section from 00.45 hrs to 05.15 hrs, the CR said in its statement. 

The night block will impact some of the services. Local for Kasara leaving CSMT 00:15 will short terminated at Thane and local for CSMT leaving Kasara 03:51 will short originate ex Thane. While, several long distance trains/mail expresses have been rescheduled during the night traffic block on intervening night of March 2 and 3. 

The CR has requested passengers to take note of the train schedule and accordingly plan their travel.
