At the Marriott Bonvoy Golf Tournament 2023 held on November 24th, 2023 at Classic Golf & Country Club, Delhi, we got him down to answer a few questions for us.

  1. Golf isn’t as prevalent in India as other sports, what challenges did you face during your career and how did you overcome them?

Cricket has always been a religion in India and most other sports were left in the background. The main challenges we faced were the lack of infrastructure, difficulty in travel, and non-availability of golf equipment.

  1. Who inspired you to follow the sport of golf, as a career?

My father was the one who always encouraged me to follow my dreams and work hard along the way. There are no shortcuts to success, and he instilled that in me from a very young age.

  1. Do you have any particular pre-game regime that you would like to share with us?

I used to be quite superstitious as a young kid, but now the pre-game routine is just getting loose and making sure the body is ready to go.

  1. Do you have a motto/mantra that you swear by?

Good, Better, Best, never let it rest, till your good is better and better is best.

  1. As a part of your tour, how have you been liking the Marriott Bonvoy Golf Tournament 2023?

I’m very proud to represent Marriott Bonvoy as one of their Golf Ambassadors. It’s a role in which I look to share my knowledge and experience with their valued guests and to offer to them what money can’t buy, experiences like inside the ropes access, one on one interactions and above all to help them become better golfers. The idea is to give back something to their loyal customers, while using golf as a vehicle and for their guests to enjoy a memorable day out.
