In a tragic incident on Wednesday evening, two people died and three others were injured after a slab collapsed of on them in Navi Mumbai`s Nerul area.

The slab of a four-storey building collapsed in sector 6 of Nerul around 9.30pm.

According to the officials, the Fire Brigade, Navi Mumbai Corporation officials are engaged in rescue operation.

According to preliminary information from Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation official, the slab of a four-storey building located in sector 6 came crashing down around 9.30 pm. “The slab crashed from 3rd floor of the building. The incident led to injuring five persons of which two have been feared dead. All the injured have been rushed to civic-run hospital.”

“The rescue team is checking the debris to find out if any more persons are trapped inside,” added the official.
