The Vanrai police have detained three accused, and are looking for 10 to 12 others including the son of the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena MLA Prakash Surve, Raj, who allegedly abducted the 38-year-old CEO of Global Music Junction from Goregaon East on Wednesday afternoon.

Three accused, including Manoj Mishra, owner of Adishakti Music Private Limited, were apprehended by the police at Mumbai airport on Thursday while attempting to fly to Patna. Rajkumar Singh, the CEO, claims Raj Surve, hired by Mishra, abducted and threatened him to sign the termination of a deal without any monetary settlement.

“On Wednesday I received a call from a man claiming to be Raj Surve`s associate who threatened me. In the evening a group of 10 to 15 men barged into my office and forced me into a car at gunpoint,” said Singh. Singh alleged they assaulted him in front of his staff and took him to the office of Prakash Surve in Dahisar East. “I was forced to sign a R100 stamp paper terminating the monetary deal with Mishra,” Singh said.  

Singh in his complaint has said that his company provides business loans to companies against digital OTT rights and had signed a contract with Mishra’s music company Adishakti Pvt. Ltd and given him R8 crore. Mishra, however, did not complete the terms of the contract after Singh told him to make a settlement and terminate the contract. Mishra allegedly refused to pay the amount and threatened Singh forcing him to sign the cancellation of the contract.

When Singh had refused to sign the termination papers, Mishra approached Raj Surve. Raj Surve abducted Singh and coerced him to sign documents on Wednesday. Police rescued Singh from Dahisar with the help of his relatives and employees. “We detained three people from the airport, the rest are still at large,” said an officer from Vanrai police station.
